Forest Service Family Activities for the Holiday Weekend

Starting Friday, May 25th, programs will be offered throughout the weekend at Kaibab Lake, Dogtown Lake and White Horse Lake Campgrounds. The schedule will be as follows:

Kaibab Campground

Friday, May 25th

  • 6:00 PM – “Signs, Signs, Everywhere Wildlife Signs”
  • Naturalist Zack Zdinak will guide you through several family activities to increase your wildlife observation powers!

Saturday, May 26th

  • 10:00 AM – Family Forest Fun Nature Walk (Bring water, sunscreen, hat and a sense of wonder!)
  • 7:30 PM – “Conservation: It’s About Community – A Land Ethic for Today” – enjoy a slide program on conservationist and game warden Aldo Leopold, his inspirational words and works, and discover the rich heritage of our public lands.

Dogtown Lake Campground

Friday, May 25th

Saturday, May 26th
  • 10:00 AM - “Signs, Signs, Everywhere Wildlife Signs” (see above)

White Horse Lake Campground

Saturday, May 26th
  • 4:00 PM - “Signs, Signs, Everywhere Wildlife Signs” (see above)

Sunday, May 27th

  • 10:00 AM – Family Forest Fun Nature Walk (Bring water, sunscreen, hat and a sense of wonder!)

All programs meet in the campground amphitheaters. Programs are presented by Public Lands Interpretive Association / Southwest Recreation in partnership with Kaibab National Forest.
