Backpackers and hikers are often considered a solitary bunch, avoiding crowds like the plague. They are also not ones to spend any more time indoors than absolutely necessary. So what could bring them all together, and inside, on a crisp autumn day? A symposium on Grand Canyon hiking and backpacking, naturally.
This year’s event entitled “Grand Switchbacks” takes place on Saturday, October 20, and will build on the success of last year’s inaugural event. It’s a wonderful opportunity to hear the stories of others who have negotiated the canyon’s formidable terrain, and share a few of your own with kindred spirits. It’s free and open to the public. Don’t miss it!
