The Hopi House has been an architectural “jewel” in the crown of Grand Canyon Village since construction in 1905. Designed by Mary Jane Colter in her signature “pueblo revival” style, this iconic building has served as a high-end sales outlet for Native American jewelry and handicrafts, and home to a number of the tribal artists and performers themselves. Though no longer used as a residence, the tribal dances on the adjacent dance platform were recently resurrected by Xanterra Parks & Resorts, the owner/operator of the Hopi House and nearby hotels and lodges.
The spring schedule includes dances from May 22-24 and 29-31. All performances begin at 1:00 p.m. and are free to the public. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness a bit of living history along the edge of the grandest of canyons.
