Since its inception in 1993, the Grand Canyon Field Institute (GCFI) has conducted hundreds of educational programs attended by participants from around the globe. A program of the non-profit Grand Canyon Association, GCFI’s faculty shares the rich natural and cultural history of the world’s grandest canyon during the course of exciting rim walks, backpacks and whitewater rafting trips.
Class topics include geology, ecology, history, archaeology, photography, and much, much more. As the longtime director of the program I can say that, for many, it is the trip of a lifetime. I’d like to invite you to join the ranks of our 20,000 alumni, and experience this amazing landscape and its endless treasures in the company of true experts. GCFI’s entire 2010 program can be viewed at their website, along with useful trip planning information.
