Entrance Fees
- The entrance fee for Grand Canyon National Park is $35 per private vehicle.
- An individual entering the park via foot, park shuttle, private rafting, bicycle or non-commercial group is $20 per person.
- The motorcycle entrance fee is $30.
- Admission is for 7 days and includes entrance to both the South Rim and North Rim.
- All fees are in U.S. Dollars.
- Digital passes that can be downloaded or printed can be purchased in advance at Reservation.gov.
- Visitors to the South Rim can purchase entrance permits at alternate locations. These locations are listed on the park’s Fees & Passes page.
- Each year Grand Canyon and the National Park Service have “Free Entrance Days.” These are shown on the park’s Free Entrance Days in the National Parks page.
- Other fees such as reservation, camping, lodging, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.
- You can purchase a Grand Canyon National Park Annual Pass for $60 which is valid for 12 months. More information – under Fees & Passes.
- Also available is the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for $80. This pass is available to the general public and provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee for a year, beginning from the date of sale. The pass admits the pass holder/s and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per vehicle fee areas and pass holder + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, at per person fee areas. - Senior Pass – America the Beautiful costs $80 for a lifetime pass or $20 for an annual pass. It is available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. It provides the same benefits of the America the Beautiful Pass shown above. More information.
- US Active Duty Military Annual Pass – Free and available to US military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as most members of the US Reserves and National Guard. Proper military ID is required. More information.
Grand Canyon 2023 Fee-free Days
No entrance pass required on these days:
- Monday, January 16 — Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Saturday, April 22 — First Day of National Park Week
- Friday, August 4 — The Great American Outdoors Act
- Saturday, September 23 — National Public Lands Day
- Saturday, November 11 — Veterans Day
Note: on entrance fee-free days, other fees for reservations, camping, lodging, and tours, are not included, unless stated otherwise.
Park Seasons
- The South Rim is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All visitor services: camping, lodging, and restaurants are available year-round. Reservations are strongly recommended during the busy summer season.
- North Rim visitor services and facilities are only open from mid-May to mid-October. Lodging and camping are available at the canyon’s North Rim from mid-May through mid-October.
- Phantom Ranch is open all year, however, it does close for short periods of time as needed for maintenance procedures or due to unforeseen circumstances.
