For the first time ever, campground reservations will be available online for camping near the turquoise waterfalls of Havasu and Mooney Falls. The Havasupai Tribe’s reservation system starts the 2019 season.
Until this year, hikers had to navigate the Tribe’s telephone system trying to get the wildly popular permits for Havasupai Campground. As the tribe was not known for being super efficient or even answering their phone, this was extremely difficult for planning a trip.
You can register now; however, reservations will not be available until opening day on February 1, 2019. Since the entire season sells out almost immediately on opening day, I highly recommend that you register in advance so that you only have to finalize the sale on February 1st.
Prices have not been finalized yet. It appears that they are waiting until the last minute to post those. Be forewarned; they are quite expensive! You can see last year’s prices on Backpacking Havasu Falls Campgrounds page.
