The lists below contain the concessioners licensed to guide backpacking and hiking trips at Grand Canyon. There are many to choose from; I recommend that you visit each company’s website to find the service that suits your interest best.
NAU Road Scholar – NAU Road Scholar, formerly Elderhostel, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing extraordinary learning adventures for people 40 years of age and over. Northern Arizona University Road Scholar offers many courses in Grand Canyon, Sedona, and throughout the Southwest worth checking out.
Typical course offerings include geology, southwest history, ecology, Native American, planetary studies, archaeology, fine arts programs and writing workshops. Whether you want to backpack or travel in comfort in hotels and nice buses, I would highly recommend checking out their online catalog.
