Grand Canyon National Park will be joining its four hundred sister parks across the country on August 25th in waiving park admission fees in honor of the 97th anniversary of the National Park Service. Founder’s Day at Grand Canyon will include discounts, special offers, and information made available by Grand Canyon Association and Xanterra, two park partners that help the NPS provide for Grand Canyon National Park and its 4.5 million visitors annually.
Make a beeline to the main Visitor Center to glean more information about how to mark the occasion and to celebrate the beginning of what famed author Wallace Stegner called “the best idea we ever had. Absolutely American, absolutely democratic, [national parks] reflect us at our best rather than our worst.”
