Only a fraction of the park’s 4.5 million annual visitors make their way below the rim. For the lucky few who venture to the canyon’s inner depths, the experience may not always be life-changing, but it is never dull.
The 4th annual Grand Canyon Hikers & Backpackers Symposium will feature a number of firsthand accounts from those who have frequented the backcountry in this grandest of chasms. Each of the 12-15 presentations is kept to twenty minutes (plus Q&A), and most are accompanied by amazing photographs from the far reaches of the park. It’s a great way to share your enthusiasm with kindred spirits, and to gather ideas for your next Grand Canyon adventure.
The free event is organized by the Grand Canyon Hikers and Backpackers Association (GCHBA) with assistance from the National Park Service and the Grand Canyon Association.
